AD578TD – AN ALL INCLUSIVE 10-12 BIT AD CONVERTER

AD578TD, an analog to digital converter, falls in the category of very fast and complete 10-12 Bit AD converters, as presented by Analog Devices. The complete feature is marked by the converter’s capability to complete the entire task of conversion on its own, without any external requirements, and the fast adjective can be attributed to the fast conversion rate of an AD578TD converter (conversion rate – 3µ). Further the precision thin film scaling resistors on the DAC account for the excellent thermal tracking. The mentioned features of the AD578, mark it as perfect contenders for applications requiring high-speed data acquisition and therefore, high throughput.

The Design Outlay

The AD578TD includes an internal clock, reference and comparator. The high performance and flexibility requirements as catered to by an AD578 converter are managed by the careful placement and utilization of MSI digital and liner ICs with a 10 Bit or a 12 Bit monolithic, monotonic DAC. The stability with time and temperature are managed by the temperature-compensated, buried, Zener reference, which provides the primary voltage reference to the DAC.

The internal clock is preset to a nominal conversion time and adjustments can be made for faster or slower conversion requirements. Short cycles and external clock capabilities are also included for specific cases seeking faster conversion speeds at varying resolutions.

An AD578TD converter is a complete conversion device and you can rely upon for the fastest conversion rates at different resolutions.

Other AD Converters on the market include:

ADC0800 8-Bit AD Converter

LTC1099 - High Speed 8-Bit A/D Converter
