LM140K-12 is Nearly Indestructible

LM140K-12 is a monolithic 3-terminal voltage regulator, suited for use as a fixed voltage regulator in many applications, such as local regulation for the elimination of noise. Also, adjustable currents and output voltages can be achieved when LM140K-12 is used with external components.

User-Friendly Construction

National Semiconductor worked hard to make LM140K-12 easy to use. Their efforts have minimized the number of external components. Transient response can be improved by bypassing the output. However, the input only needs to be bypassed if LM140K-12 does not enjoy proximity to the power supply’s filter capacitor.

Other features include an internal short-circuit current limit, internal thermal overload protection, output transistor safe area protection, and complete specifications at 1A load.

Maximum storage temperature range is 62° C to 150° C. ESD susceptibility is 2kV, as measure by the human body model of 100 pF discharged through 1.5K Ohms. It comes in a 2-lead T03 package.
